Vodafone Ghana has awarded GHȼ45,000 to the first three subscribers who accumulated the most points in month two of the telecommunication company’s 70-day consumer promo dubbed “Yee Twi Kɔ”.

28-year old Samuel Obeng Amoako won the monthly grand prize of GHȼ30,000, while GHȼ10,000 and GHȼ5,000 cash prizes went to Baba Ibrahim and Belinda Boahene respectively.

Adenta-based Samuel Obeng Amoako was full of smiles as he recounted his surprise when he was told he had won the GHS 30,000. “I was simply dumbfounded when I received the call from Vodafone; I didn’t know whether to shout, be quiet or start jumping.”

Mr. Obeng, a social worker at the Department of Social Welfare in Accra said  that his constant love for streaming movies and series made him buy loads of credit which in turn materialised in the cheque he has won.

Despite coming second and third place in the second month of the promo, Baba Ibrahim and Belinda Boahene stressed that they are individually aiming for the GHS 100,000 cash prize come December 26.

Martison Obeng-Agyei, Head of Vodafone’s Mass Market said Vodafone Ghana has increased the number of winners from 170,000 to 272,00 so that more customers can win instant cash and top-up credit while highest point gainers have won in the weekly The event was attended by Mark Hayford, Regional Manager at Vodafone, Michael Lartey, Vodafone’s Commercial Director of Eastern Region and other dignitaries from Vodafone’s Head office in Accra.

Customers can simply ‘Scratch, Top-up and Win’ or build points as they recharge, make calls, send SMS, browse the internet or purchase bundles including Vodafone RED and Vodafone X.

Customers who have been off the network within three months can still recharge, activate and win exciting prizes. The ‘scratch and win’ aspect of the promotion is open to both pre-paid and hybrid customers; however the point accumulation aspect is only for consumer mobile prepaid customers.
