Citi FM awards best broadcast journalists at GIJ [Photos]

Citi FM has awarded two students who excelled in Broadcast journalism at the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

Eva Kuupoulo and Ghansah Kwesi Ewur were drawn from the Degree and Diploma programmes.

They each took home a laptop, a Sony digital recorder, a set of books, branded certificates and a cash prize.

They were given the awards during the institute’s graduation ceremony held at the forecourt of the Ghana Institute of Journalism today.

Speaking to at the ceremony, a Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Nii Lantey Vanderpuiye urged the young journalists to ensure that local content dominate the nation’s media landscape rather than foreign ones.

He also cautioned them to be circumspect in their reportage especially as the nation prepares for a major election in 2016 saying “they should think about what will keep this country together, the peace, stability and peace of our country more than anything else.

In all about 520 students graduated with either degree or diploma certificates in Journalism or Public Relations.
