Some residents in Akatsi, a district in the south-eastern part of the Volta region have been displaced after their houses flooded following hours of torrential rain on Friday

The flood reportedly destroyed property worth hundreds of cedis but so far, no human casualties have been reported.

Some residents tried to retrieve what they could while others stood in the receding flood waters which at some areas had reached knee level and counted their losses.

In August the residents of Fuvemeh in Keta had their houses destroyed by tidal waves.

In February , Hundreds of residents of Horve Havedzi were displaced in what the people lament, has become an annual ritual in the area.
