The Deputy Director of Communications of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Karbo, has admonished the Ghana Police Service to consider inviting the military command for questioning over the ransacking of the party’s head office.

According to Mr. Karbo,  the move will help the Police unravel the truth in the matter.

[contextly_sidebar id=”I3x88xaNb2v12aiRbZiPszfQjKx8IXBt”]Some persons believed to be wearing military uniforms and using military vehicles reportedly stormed the NPP’s head office on Monday dawn, where they allegedly made away with a hard drive and other documents.

Although the Ghana Armed Forces has dismissed the involvement of its officers, Anthony Karbo on Eyewitness News insisted that the command should be made to explain which of its personnel were on patrol in the area at the time the incident occurred.

“The Police have indicated to us that they are seriously investigating the matter. Maybe the Police may have to invite the Ghana military command to find out which particular officers were in charge of patrolling that part of Asylum down at that ungodly hour when all these took place. I think all the bits and pieces of information will help unravel this puzzle,” he added.

The NPP communicator said the military must answer questions about the impersonation of military officers.

“…The party also went ahead to ask; how did these people get access to the Police and military vehicles?. How did they proceed to search the party office without a search warrant? How did they proceed to conduct searches without notice to any party official or involving the security men who were on guard? These were the questions that we asked; so if the Ghana Armed Forces are saying that they did not order such operation then it raises even more serious questions about people who can impersonate and wear military uniforms, use Police vehicle and use military vehicles to orchestrate such operations,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Police have so far arrested about eleven persons for their alleged roles in the ransacking of the NPP headquarters.
