‘Club Live’ to lead renaissance of highlife music in Ghana

Club Premium Lager, Ghana’s #1 selling beer is providing a platform for the current renaissance of Ghana’s highlife music.

This is through its musical property ‘Club Live’ which is a celebration of authentic Ghanaian music.

So far Club live has hosted live performances by highlife legends such as Amakye Dede, Kwabena Kwabena, Akosua Agyepong, Papa Yankson, Okyeame Kwame, Gyedu Blay Ambolley and Pat Thomas amongst many other greats for its cherished consumers.

These performances have been compiled into a 12-episode TV series airing on TV3 network every Sunday from 5:30pm- 6:30pm hosted by Mikki Osei Berko aka Master Richard.

The series features entertaining live recordings of highlife mixed with insightful interviews on the journeys of the artists, their views on the current state of highlife, Ghanaian music as a whole and their expectations of the future.

Speaking on Club Live, ABL’s marketing director-designate, Samori Gambrah noted, “Ghanaian highlife music is in fact the original, authentic live band music with strong national and international appeal, authenticity and pedigree–Like club. We are exhilarated to be associated with such amazing artistes and highlife music as a whole.”

Over the years Club has supported and sponsored the Ghana Music Week festivals, traditional occasions and over 35 festivals annually including Kwahu Afahye, Fetu Afahye, Odwira, Homowo and Asafotufiam.

Club will continue to bring refreshment and sociability to all Ghanaians and its consumers by continuing to support our cultural events, music and festivals in association with Club Live.

Club Live series will also feature live performances from Samini, Kofi B, Obrafour, Kofi Nti, Adane Best, Nana Yaa, Gasmilla and Ofie Kudjo and will continue to air over the coming months on TV3.
