Lawyers for murder suspect Gregory Afoko have raised concerns about the Attorney General’s delay in presenting a bill of indictment against their client in the ongoing murder case.
[contextly_sidebar id=”wkbggKuzkswnKZxYaXGujZbVRmKjNAEE”]According to the lawyers, the delay is unfair to their client who they say is innocent of the charges brought against him.
Gregory Afoko, brother of the suspended NPP Chairman Paul Afoko, is facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder and murder alongside two others.
This was after they allegedly poured acid on the NPP’s Upper East Regional Chairman Adam Mahama in May, leading to his death.
Prosecution in the case said in September that the Police had completed its investigations.
According to Superintendent of Police Francis Baah, the prosecutor, at the time had not sent a duplicate docket to the office of the Attorney General for advice.
Mr Ekow Ampah Korsah, who represented Afoko, told the court that, sending a duplicate docket to the Attorney General should not take them more than two weeks.
