The Citi FM Family Month goes full throttle from today, May 5.  The Family Month was launched last week on the Citi Breakfast Show.

Speaking at the official launch of the event on the Citi Breakfast Show, Jessica Opare – Saforo said that ‘the essence of the family month is to  recognize the need for the promotion of unity and preservation of families, especially as many countries around the world will be celebrating the United Nations International Day of Families on the 15th of May. Citi FM has decided to not just make it a one day celebration but to extend the celebration of Ghanaian families to a month long activity’.

Activities for the Family Month began officially on Thursday 1st May at the Winners Chapel with the Family Consecration service. The service brought together thousands of families for a special prayer service led by Citi FM’s  ‘This is your day’ team – Pastor Steven Yenusom Wengham and Pastor Freddie MacDavies.

The Family Finance Series starts airing on the Citi Breakfast Show today, for the entire duration of the month. Listeners would get quality insights into managing family finances to ensure stability and growth.

The 15-minute segment would have some of the most accomplished family finance experts share their in-depth knowledge and offer realistic solutions to pertinent financial challenges families face in peculiar situations.  The first week features Charles Mensah, a financial consultant, who will take listeners through the basics of family finance.

There will also be the family law series which will deal with aspects of family law in a bid to minimize conflicts and  help preserve the family.

Citi FM recognizes the sacrifices of mothers as we celebrate mothers’ day with a special  Cook For Mama competition – a promotion specifically designed to celebrate mothers on Saturday 10th May. The event would see a mother walk away with a GHc 3000 cash prize and souvenirs after heads of families engage in a culinary challenge.

The Family Month will be climaxed with the family fun day out. It will be a special day for families to spend quality time, get together and have some family fun at the serene Rufus Green Park, in Katamanso – near Regimanuel Grey Estate off the Dodowa road. This will be on a holiday, Monday the 26th of May, 2014.

Tune in to 97.3 Citi FM for your total family experience.
