A member of Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee, George Loh wants Ghanaian legislators to disregard Professor Stephen Adei’s allegations of corruption leveled them.

While trying to discredit the claims, George Loh questioned the credibility of the professor arguing that his academic credentials is even in dispute.

[contextly_sidebar id=”cG71MInyzdPJISCjyQdJhcQb9Sp5L7lR”]“Are you aware that his so called academic credentials have been brought into disrepute,  and it has been the subject of even litigation. It’s on the same region that I would expect the best from the professor if he wants to be treated with some dignity,” he said.

The former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Prof. Adei had incurred the wrath of the legislators after labeling them as corrupt and alleged that they[MPs] take bribes before approving bills.

Some of the law makers including the Adansi Asokwa MP, K.T. Hammond has threatened to drag the professor before the Privileges Committee of Parliament.

Meanwhile, the North Dayi MP in a Citi News interview insisted that the prof. Adei’s claim does not even merit an inquiry by the Privileges Committee.

“I get the impression that some of these people are looking for cheap popularity and in that respect, I don’t want to give the honour of making them popular. They are buying popularity through the back door and if you ask me personally, I will ignore him and treat him with the contempt he deserves.”

George Loh criticized Prof. Adei’s bases for making such claim arguing that “If you are not saying that you have experienced it but somebody has told you that, is it enough grounds for you to go out in the public and say what you are saying  to denigrate honourable members of this country including the speaker”

“…I think it is unfortunate and unbecoming,” he added.
