An Accra High court has dismissed a contempt application brought by justice Paul Dery, against the Chief Executive Officer of Starr FM, Nathaniel Kwabena Anokye Adisi, the Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Sulemana Braimah and others.

[contextly_sidebar id=”KpJlAewRtcEYDYQRARhEw8JZs4ZPbcA9″]The application was dismissed because according to the presiding judge, Justice Torkonoo, the applicant had withdrawn the substantive case against the showing of the video by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The ruling also exonerates two other people cited in the contempt application.

Others joined in the suit included the acting Editor of the New Crusading Guide, Samuel Frimpong and the Deputy Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Ernest Addo.

Justice Dery had prayed the court to convict and punish the people and institutions involved because they will continue to disregard the courts and justice if they are not dealt with.
