Leicester City winger Jeffrey Schlupp says he feels totally at home now with the Black Stars ahead of their 2017 AFCON qualifier against Rwanda.

Schlupp has been in and out of the team since 2011 and he missed the World Cup in Brazil and the 2015 AFCON even though he played in some of the qualifying matches.

However, since November 2014, he has been earned more caps and he scored his first goal for Ghana in the 7-1 win over Mauritius in June. He believes he is now more settled in the team.

“When I first came in, it was a little bit difficult for me and that is understandable but you can tell that I am really into the team now.”

The 22-year-old has started the Barclays Premier League well for Leicester City as they have maintained their unbeaten start in the English Premier league.

Schlupp told Citi Sports that he hoped to replicate his club form for the national side to give the Black Stars a win in Rwanda on Saturday.

“Obviously football has grown and the game is very competitive now but I am always ready to give it a hundred and one all the time. We know that we have to work hard to ensure that at the end of the day we get the desired score line.”

Both Ghana and Rwanda are on the 3 points after match day one and the winner will move clear at the summit of the group table.
