In-form Swansea City midfielder Andre Dede Ayew is set to lead Ghana against the Amavubi of Rwanda following fitness concerns on the side of captain Asamoah Gyan.

Ayew is making a return to the team after missing out in the Stars last two games against Togo and Mauritius respectively.

Gyan trained shortly with the team on Friday and suggesting that the Shanghai SIPG could start the game against Rwanda from the bench.

He told Citi Sports: “You can see my knee is swollen but it would all depend on the technical team. Lets wait and see what happens as things could change.”

Ayew has been in very good form for Swansea City in the Barclays Premier League after scoring 3 goals in four games for the Welsh side.
