The Christian Praise International Centre (CPIC) at the weekend presented assorted items valued at GH¢ 24,970.00 to the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital to enhance quality health delivery.
The items included a brand new incubator and other life saving gadgets valued at GH¢ 16,000.00, toilet tissue, soap, detergent all valued at GH¢ 4,600.00.
[contextly_sidebar id=”jSP0xhbJOizmEAxWg1BWZupekULkJlqP”] The donation was made on the occasion of the Church’s annual National Tarry Camp and first anniversary celebration of the passing of its founder, Bishop Augustine Annor-Yeboah.
It was held in Dormaa – Ahenkro in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Brong – Ahafo Region. It brought together all the branches of the church across the country and Cote D’Ivoire.
Presenting the items, Apostle Dr. Stephen Owusu Jackson, the National Chairman of CPIC, indicated the Church’s commitment to sustaining and promoting the good legacies left behind by its founder, which advanced the course of humanity.
He said the late Bishop Annor-Yeboah dedicated part of his life to supporting widows and orphans and was driven by passion to ensure their upliftment and well-being in society.
Dr. Isaac Appiah, the General Manager, Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital, expressed appreciation to the church for the generous donation adding, “although the Hospital was endowed with five specialists departments, it had for several years battled with equipping and resourcing those departments with certain tools to enhance their performance due to the high cost of those equipment”.
He described the donation as a very big relief to the Hospital, indicating it would lessen its huge burden.
Dr. Adoma Fokuo, Paediatrics Unit of the Hospital, was elated and thanked the Church for responding to an urgent request and provided incubators to save the lives of premature babies in the Hospital.
“This forced us to create an improvised incubator, but that was unsustainable,” she lamented.
She added that the appeal for incubators had so far yielded positive response with the donation of five incubators to the department, stressing all other donation towards that course were still welcomed.
Barima Yeboah Kordie, the Aduanahene of Dormaa Traditional Area, called for good relationship between the church, state and traditional rulers to ensure the socio-economic development of the nation.
He appealed to the current Chairman of the Church to continue with the good legacies of the founder, and pledged the traditional council’s unflinching support to them.
The Church has also adopted and painted the maternity ward of the Hospital at the cost of GH¢ 4, 370.00 and named it “Bishop Dr. A. Annoh Yeboah Maternity Ward”.
