The People’s National Convention (PNC) has revealed that the former Youth and Sports Minister under the Kufour administration, Alhaji Mallam Yusif Issah can contest the NDC Parliamentary primaries in the Adentan constituency as he left the party years.

Alhaji Mallam Yusif Issah on Thursday picked nomination forms to contest the Adentan seat to replace incumbent MP, Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore.

But speaking to Citi News, General Secretary of the PNC, Bernard Monarh indicated that Mallam Issah is not a member in good standing even though he has not officially resigned from the PNC.

“Since 2003, he has not been a member of the PNC in good standing, I’ve not  seen or notice his presence at any party event and he has not contributed in any way towards the growth of our party and so in effect he has  to so has not been a member of the party since 2003,” he said.

Commenting on Mallam Yusif Issah’s decision to contest the Adentan seat on the ticket of the NDC, Mr. Monarh described the decision as a personal one and wished him well.

“What I can say is that he has the free will to decide where he wants to belong to and if he chooses to contest on the ticket of another party as a Member of Parliament, all we can say is that we wish him well,” he added.
