Former Minister of Youth and Sports under the Kufuor administration, Alhaji Mallam Ali Yusif Issah has picked up nomination forms to contest in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the Adentan constituency.
The ex-convict said the Adentan constituency under Ashie Moore has seen no development hence his intention to unseat the honourable Ashie Moore.

Whoever wins the parliamentary candidature for the NDC will face up to Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, parliamentary candidate of the NPP, in the 2016 general elections.
Mallam Issah was jailed for misplacing $ 46,000 in winning bonuses meant for the Black Stars on an assignment in Sudan in 2001 but was granted a presidential pardon in 2003 on health grounds.
Mallam Issah has always maintained his innocence, insisting he was framed by persons within the Kufuor administration with the connivance of the then President.
He was a member of the People’s National Convention (PNC) when he served in the Kufuor administration but switched camp to the NDC in 2003, according to him.
The NDC has held the Adentan seat since 2008 since Kwadwo Adu Asare won it in that year’s election.
The NDC opened nominations for parliamentary candidates on the Thursday, 27th August and is expected to run till September 10.
Prospective candidates who want to contest for the party’s parliamentary primary are expected to pay a filing fee of ten thousand cedis while, prospective female candidates and persons with disability will pay half of the total amount- they will pay GH₵5,000.00 as filing fee for the parliamentary primary.
Notable among aspirants who have already declared their intention to contest include Sam George for Ningo Prampram, Kpessah Whyte for Shai Osu Doku, Ras Mubarak for Kumbugu in the Northern Region and Clement Apaak [Presidential Staffer] for the Builsa South.
