Leeford Kpakpo Quarshie, a Parliamentary aspirant in the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) impending primaries in the Korley Klottey constituency, has sent a clear signal he is not intimidated by Dr. Ezenator Rawlings, daughter of the party’s founder who is also vying for the same seat.

[contextly_sidebar id=”QKCGBI3cJ42XLpVe2uTpGV9VaV9WPFow”]Dr. Ezenator Rawlings, according to sources close to the Rawglings family has decided to contest in the primaries.

She is contesting with Leeford Kpakpo Quarshie, the Grandson of Tetteh Quarshie, the first person who brought cocoa in Ghana.

Speaking to Citi News’ Kojo Agyeman, Leeford Kpakpo Quarshie said though ex-President Rawlings wields a lot of influence in the NDC, it does not mean his daughter can easily win the slot.

“I have a lot of respect for former President Jerry John Rawlings. I think he is by far, one of the best presidents we’ve ever had in this country and his daughter is welcomed to come and join us to win the seat for the NDC.”

He said “I will be willing to work with the daughter so that we can bring the glory for the NDC. It does not matter the personality that is going, what matters is that we retain the seat for the constituency.”

Leeford Quarshie described himself as “the man for the grass root…the man who can do the job.”

“I think that everybody should give me the opportunity to retain the seat for the NDC. My face is known in the constituency…It is the ant that kills the elephant. The elephant in Korley Klottey is about to be stung by the ant. I am Tsatsu,” he added.
