Kasoa Police are on a manhunt for some residents who lynched a suspected robber in Kasoa yesterday.

Robbers have constantly been terrorizing residents at Kasoa and surrounding areas including Amanfrom.

[contextly_sidebar id=”78qD29hhHFqhNSbkf6zaI7cHMWojZVNc”]The residents have on numerous occasions blamed the police for not acting swiftly anytime they are under attack.

In a rather bizarre situation some residents on Monday, after apprehending a suspected robber lynched him and burnt the body of the said victim.

Speaking to Citi News on the development, the Kasoa Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendant Samuel Winful condemned the act, adding that the police would arrest those involved.

“That is where the problem is going, They harbour the criminals, they don’t inform the Police about the criminals and that is where the problem is going. It is a mob action. If when we went in the body was almost burnt to ashes.

“Police cannot be everywhere 24 hours. People should be mindful of their own security. Any suspected movement around their vicinity, they should draw the Police attention but if you inform the Police about a suspected behavior we will not expose you.

He further revealed that the police is still investigating the incident.

“We are trying, that is what we are doing. We are still doing the investigations and we will use informants around to pick up the necessary information needed.”
