Ghana and Bournemouth winger Christian Atsu is set make his return to the first team following an injury he sustained in pre-season against Yeovil Town.

It is unclear if manager Eddie Howe will throw Atsu into the match against West Ham at Upton Park due to his lack of match fitness.

Expectations are high for Atsu following his impressive performance for the Black Stars at the AFCON 2015 in Equatorial Guinea which saw him claim the coveted best player of the competition award.

Bournemouth consider Atsu a pivotal piece in their debut season in the English Premiership and will be hoping that the winger on loan from Chelsea will shake off the early injury jitters to enable him contribute.

Atsu himself will be hoping to stay fit after an injury hit season in the last campaign with Everton have raised concerns about his durability.
