A 15-year-old girl has been stabbed and robbed at gunpoint early this morning at Amanfrom in the Ga South Municipality in Accra.

The area has been a flashpoint for robbery over the weeks, compelling the Accra regional police commander to visit the area just last Monday.

Citi News’ Franklin Badu Jnr. reported that the incident happened around 5am on Friday.

[contextly_sidebar id=”JbK8x24zVX2D5lc70cXd2WZomEDyjNcP”]He said the “15-year-old girl, JHS leaver, was leaving her house at Amanfrom heading towards the Kasoa market” to go and shop.

“When she was about arriving at the main Amanfrom junction, two suspected armed robbers, fired gunshots in the air and ordered her to handover her handbag but she failed to do so. Because she was resisting, they stabbed her in the arm, took her bag and sped off. This happened at the Amanfrom ICT center, barely 20 meters away from the Amanfrom Police station,” he narrated.

The 15-year old is currently receiving treatment at the Amanfrom health post.

Franklin Badu also said that the girl “is likely to be transferred to a bigger hospital due to the extent of the injury.”

There have been a series of reported robbery attacks at Amanfrom in recent times.

A group of robbers last Saturday raided some homes in the area and took away their monies and belongings and shot four victims after physically torturing them.

Residents in the area have called on government to provide them with a Police post to enhance security in the area.
