The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will today make the strongest case yet for a new voters’ register ahead of the 2016 election.

[contextly_sidebar id=”cAqnpFe2jA0IJ0SOaC7jaiahey7l0EI2″]The NPP insists the current register is bloated and thus not credible for any election.

The party’s Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to present the party’s position on the matter, ultimately pronouncing their position of wanting a new register to be compiled for the 2016 elections.

Subsequent to this Citi News understands the party will officially present a petition to the EC chair on the matter.

The party will also make demands for a simplified format of the pink sheet for transparent collation of election results.

The NPP has in recent months been meeting minority political parties in a move to put pressure on the EC to compile a new register for next year’s polls.
