About 35 junior doctors out of the agitated 91, have thronged the premises of the CAGD to protest the non-payment of their salaries, which had not been paid for over 11 months.

Franklin Badu Jnr reported that DSP Freeman had told him that, they were waiting for the “leadership of the of the group and charge them for unlawful gathering because they did notify the Police before gathering.”

He observed that there were Police armored vehicles around the office of the CAGD.

The doctors had explained that they were at the premise to only present a petition to the CAGD and not to demonstrate.

“They argue that if nurses and other public sector workers can come here and present their documents and go through a biometric verification process, why can’t they?” he added.

(1) Whoever takes part in an unlawful assembly shall be guilty of a misdemeanour.

(2) Whoever takes part in an unlawful assembly armed with any offensive weapon or missile shall be guilty of second degree felony.
