Whether you are that lady who is not keen on wearing high heels, it is generally expected that at least on your wedding day, you suck it up and wear it; at least for the few hours that the event will last.

Friends who usually give you grief will persuade you to wear high heels by backing their persuasions with tons of reasons why not wearing high heels will look bad on you.

Well, a Ghanaian bride who is not a ‘high heel’ kind of lady dared to wear sneakers; specifically, a purple AirWalks on her wedding day.

I have seen a few brides who change into ballet flats for their wedding reception but definitely not ‘camboo.’

Juliet Azedi Ajaab Adei told citifmonline.com that although she is not a big fan of high heels, she planned to wear one on her “big day.”

She however ‘dawged’ the idea a few minutes to her walking down the aisle.

“I planned to wear the heels for the ceremony and change to the sneakers for the reception but I changed my mind when I was about to wear the heels,” she said.

“I’m not really a heels person and the sneakers felt so comfortable,” she emphasized with a grin.

Juliet however disclosed that her husband bought the sneakers for her and was pleasantly surprised when he saw her in them.

“My husband smiled when he noticed and said somehow he knew I would wear the sneakers instead of the heels. He bought them for me actually and I guess it felt more special.”

Juliet, who is the Chief Executive Officer at Zedi&Cross further explained, “my gown was pretty big so very few people noticed at the church.”

Despite her bold decision, she was unsure how her guests would take it.

“I wasn’t sure how people would take it but I doubt my close friends were surprised. At the reception I got a lot of cheers though and at a point people were taking more pictures of the shoes than me and husband.”

On June 26, Juliet posted the photo on her Facebook page which has since gotten a lot of traction, applause and comments from her friends.
