Discharge your duties creditably – Paul Afoko to EC Boss

The Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Afoko has charged the new Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Charlotte Osei to strive to perform her duties creditably.

He believes her effectiveness will enable her surmount various challenges at he Commission.

Speaking in an interview with Citi News, the NPP Chairman also stated that Mrs. Osei will need the support of every Ghanaian to be effective.

“She has come in to inherit a lot of challenges and I just pray that she will be up to those challenges. I believe that she is well experienced enough and that if we all approach her with the goodwill that our democratic dispensation requires of us then she will discharge her duties creditably,” he said.

Charlotte Osei replaced Afari Gyan who has been serving as the EC Boss for over 20 years.

President Mahama gave Dr. Afari Gyan highest national award for his service to the nation.

The award, Companion of the Order of Star of Ghana was presented by the President on Wednesday at the Flag Staff House in Accra.
