The negotiations, according to him began on Monday.
Gradual withdrawal of service
After the one month expiration, the GMA’s general assembly would then direct for a gradual withdrawal of services in the month of August.
In the first week of August, the doctors will halt their services at the Out Patient Departments (OPDs) of all medical facilities.
In the second week, they will then withdraw other services excluding emergency services.
The third week of the withdrawal will however include all services as well as emergency services.
This will culminate in the implementation of their final decision.
Background
All public sector doctors across the country threatened to resign by June 30, 2015 if the government failed to establish conditions of service for them.
They began issuing reminders about eight months ago to force the government to give in to their demands.
On June 16, they issued their final warning and indicated that their resignation will be justified because they had given government ample time to address their concerns.
But the Ministry of Health stated that it may be unable to meet the June 30 deadline of the doctors.
The Ministry explained that it was however working earnestly to ensure the document is ready.
