Despite the controversy surrounding the 2012 flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo’s legitimacy to cast his vote at the party’s national delegates conference, he has finally voted.

Chairman aspirant, Paul Afoko in a letter to the NPP National Election Committee raised concerns about the categories of voters by the party’s constitution, arguing that former flagbearers, running mates and past General Secretaries of the party were not supposed to be on the delegates list.

His opponents misinterpreted the contents of the letter to mean he attempted to stop Nana Akufo-Addo and his two-time running mate Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia from exercising their franchise.

Nevertheless, Nana  Addo finally cast his vote when his name was announced on the delegates list as a member of the National Executive Council.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia equally voted.
