The Interior Ministry has reviewed the curfew hours in five townships in the Northern and Volta Regions.
They are the Bunkprugu, Bimbila and Nankpaduri Townships in the Northern Region as well as the Alavanyo and Nkonya Townships in the Volta Region.
[contextly_sidebar id=”bocm2mvBD6x7xp85jwAFdPVa6inP8We5″]The curfew hours for Bunkpurugu have been reviewed from 4pm to 6pm effective Tuesday, June 23 while the Bimbila Township has been reviewed from 9pm to 5am effective Friday, June 19.
The curfew hours for the Nakpanduri Township and its environs including Kpatritinga, Bonbila, Borgni Boatarrigu and Sakogu communities have been reviewed from 10pm to 4am effective Friday June 19.
The Alavanyo and Nkonya Townships have been reviewed from 6pm to 6am.
A statement signed by the Interior Minister, Mark Woyongo said the decision was taken on the advice of the Security Councils in both regions.
The statement also reiterated government’s ban on all persons in the affected communities from carrying arms, ammunitions or any offensive weapons, adding that any person found with any arms or ammunition would be arrested and prosecuted.
