Analysts in the agricultural industry have raised fears of a possible drought in the Northern Region due to the uncertainty of the rains.
The Northern Regional Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Abu Iddrisu described the phenomenon as changes in the rainfall patterns.
He attributed it to climate change and called for attitudinal change.

Some of the discouraged small holder farmers told Citi Business News they were frustrated.
They admonished government to establish irrigation projects to boost agriculture in the area.
There are fears of food shortage in the local markets which could rocket the poverty levels.
This is exact with the reality at the Tamale Aboabo cereals and grains market where there seem to be some shortage.
The prices of foodstuff particularly cereals and grains have already sky-rocketed.
