A 5-member committee has been set up to investigate the June 3 fire incident that claimed over 90 lives at the GOIL filling station at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.
The committee chaired by retired Justice Isaac Delali Douse was set up by the Minister of Interior, Mark Woyongo per a direction by the President.
They are expected to complete the investigations by June 30th.
Other members of the committee include: Wise Ametepe, a Hydrologist, DCFO William Jesse Mensah – Fire Service, Colonel Mohammed Mustapha and Chief Supt. Raymond Simpi.
The Minister further urged the public to assist the committee with information to enable them make comprehensive recommendations to government.
A fire outbreak at the GOIL filling station amidst heavy rains killed about 150 people while several others were injured.
Government subsequently established a GH¢50 million fund to support both the fire and flood victims.
A memorial service was also held last Wednesday in honour of the departed souls.
