The 22 year old parliamentary aspirant who turned out as the “star” of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries has said the delegates who voted for her, bought into her well thought out message.
Francisca Oteng Mensah who won the Kwabre East constituency elections, beat off competition from Kofi Frimpong, who has been in Parliament since 2004.
Her critics have sought to dismiss her efforts in winning the seat, claiming that she had huge cash backing her from her father.
[contextly_sidebar id=”f4vQs4Dmt0l0LVfiPfBJrB6NbdxuKlNb”]Francisca admitted in an interview with Citi News that she had support from her father’s company, the Angel Group of companies but her victory was more to do with her message.
She said while her opponent focused on vilifying her, she stuck to her message of transforming the lives of the youth.
Francisca among other things, promised the construction of an office space for the party, a trading center, a scholarship fund to promote education in the area.

“The other thing was about was about scholarships. I am still a student and so education is something that I’m very serious with,” she added.
“The last thing was about my salary,” she noted, adding that “I want to give out three months of my salary to the party…This is to cater for the welfare of the party, especially delegates.”
