The defeated New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Weija/Gbawe, Rosemond Comfort Abrah has disclosed that she will challenge the results of the party’s parliamentary primaries in the area after losing to the former NPP national Deputy Women’s Organizer Tina Mensah.
[contextly_sidebar id=”6mErFsv7bxPD2vDPxyt30n3cW35yaLgw”]Rosemond Abrah alleged that the voter’s album was tampered with, in favour of her opponent.
She earlier attempted to stop the declaration of the results when she pulled out a different album at the end of the polls, insisting that should have been used for the election.
When the presiding officer rejected her claim and proceeded to announce Tina Mensah as winner of the polls with 309 votes as against her 175 votes, the visibly livid MP told Citi News the result was not a true reflection of the process.
“They have stolen it, they used a different album. Thieves, thieves…, ” she shouted.
“I’m not accepting the results, Tina Mensah hasn’t won. They have used a different album for the voting,” she fumed.
When asked whether she will challenge the result, she responded in the affirmative saying, “surely, I will.”
But the newly elected Tina Mensah was elated.
She also dismissed the allegations by the incumbent MP saying “I don’t know what she is talking about. Because this is the same album that was used during the 18th October election for Nana Akufo-Addo so I don’t know what she is talking about.”
