An aspirant in the Asokwa constituency in the Ashanti Region,Kofi Jumah has been arrested for  allegedly ripping up the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) voters’ register.

Citi News’ Hawa Iddrisu reported that the aspirant took that decision because he claimed “the voters register had been doctored to suit the incumbent MP.”

According to Hawa, supporters of Kofi Jumah were “very violent  and served notice that they will resist any attempt by the EC and the party to use the voters’ register.”

This is not the first time Kofi Jumah has been arrested.

He was earlier arrested and charged with causing unlawful harm to one Jamel Agha, whom he accused of stealing his mobile phone.

Back and forth between Kofi Jumah and Patricia Appiah Adjei

The former KMA Chief Executive was launching a comeback for the seat he lost to the incumbent Member of Parliament, Patricia Appiah Adjei in the 2011 primaries.

Already, the accusation and counter accusations that greeted the 2011 primaries had resurrected with Madam Appiah Adjei accusing Maxwell Kofi Jumah of employing “unholy” methods to unseat her.
