Delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Awutu Senya East constituency have boycotted voting in the party’s ongoing parliamentary primaries over transportation fares.
The delegates claim the monies made available for their fares cannot transport them back to their respective destinations.
Citi News’ Franklin Badu Junior reported that “delegates in the constituency can be heard chanting ‘No TNT no vote'”
He said the agitated delegates in the constituency were promised GH 20 cedis as TNT but had not yet received their money.
Voting has begun in some constituencies across the country to elect new members of Parliament for the NPP.
Over 120,000 delegates will elect new MPs to contest in the 2016 elections.
