Over 34,000 victims of last Wednesday’s floods are yet to receive relief items barely a week after the disaster.

NADMO has been distributing relief items to victims of the flood and fire disaster which left over 150 dead and several hundred displaced as government has dedicated some GH¢50 million to deal with the disaster.

In an interview with Citi News, the Chief Disaster Control officer at NADMO, Gavivina Tamakloe stated that there is an urgent need for more relief items to be able to serve the affected persons.

“As to what we have budgeted, I will not be able  to tell you but I can tell you that we have given relief to certain number of people. We will need more relief to assist those who have not been reached yet, so we have been going round the place doing registration.

He added that figures his outfit had received from “our districts, municipalities, and sub-metros have brought the number to over 34,000.”

Meanwhile, NADMO has distributed relief items to some flood affected areas including Adabraka.
