The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo has sent a stern warning to party executives to cease the internal wrangling within the party.
“The finger pointing, the name calling, the insults, the lies, the denigrating of past and current leaders must stop,” he said.

The subsequent developments caused some influential members of the party and the minority in Parliament, to ask for the resignation of National Chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong.
On Thursday some loyalists of Paul Afoko clashed with the “Invisible Forces,” a security group guarding the party’s headquarters.
The Afoko supporters numbering over 20 stormed the party’s headquarters around 12pm on Thursday to protest against attempts to remove the National Chairman.
But Nana Addo in his statement emphatically stated that there is “absolutely nothing to be gained” from these “internal recriminations” within the NPP.
He posited that it is “unseemly and disrespectful” towards the memory of Chairman Adams that such “loud noises should continue within the party” while it [party] is still in the “official mourning period”
“A certain amount of outburst induced by the tragedy is understandable because of the extreme nature of the tragedy, but that should not mean that NPP members should behave out of character.”
He therefore advised the party to focus its energy on providing a “fertile soil for … opponents.”
