A 36-Year old man has been arrested in Kumasi for posing as a military officer.

He was arrested around 1 am on Sunday at the Viena City Night Club.

An eyewitness at the Night Club told citifmonline.com that the alleged imposter  was arrested when he turned up at the Club in military uniform.

He said the tag name on the uniform was Medici.

The eyewitnesses added that apparently some military men [not in uniform] who were also at the club became curious and approached Medici to inquire why he was there in uniform.

The eyewitness said the military men quickly ordered for the closure of the Club’s gate when they realized that Medici was an imposter because he couldn’t answer some of the question that were posed to him.

The eyewitness said upon a search on Medici they found a fake Identity card with the name Jerry Medici and working at the office of the President.

He was later dragged to the Police Station.

Meanwhile, briefing the media in Kumasi, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Osei Ampofo Duku gave the full name of the alleged imposter as Fiifi Medici adding that he was also in possession of a fake GH¢20 note.

ACP Duku said Fiifi Medici confessed that the uniform belonged to his uncle who had retired from active service.

He added that the alleged imposter said he was a student in Belarus and was in Ghana on holidays but put on the uniform because it fascinated him.

ACP Duku however assured that the Police are investigating the matter after which Medici would be charged with possessing a military uniform without authority and also dealing in fake currency.
