Also, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Alhaji Halidu Haruna who called the female celebrities championing the event “as unmarried prostitutes” on his Facebook page attempted to join the group.

He was however whisked away by the Police after participants hooted and attempted to beat him up.

Lawyer for the celebrities, Kofi Bentil said the protest is a “revelation that people are indeed suffering from the power crisis.”

One of the main organizers, Sarkodie, could not attend the event because he is away in the United States. Outspoken actress, Lydia Forson was also absent.

The peaceful protest was aimed at pressurizing government to resolve the three-year power crisis which is hurting businesses.
