Gov’t presents its climate change policy to Kufuor

Minister of Environment Science Technology and Innovation, Mahama Ayariga, has presented Ghana’s Climate Change Policy to Ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor who is now the United Nations (UN) Special Envoy on Climate Change.

[contextly_sidebar id=”ryrFL6okM1iuRjqWJTJ7p3kYxskMGnfe”]The Minister pledged government’s commitment to protect the environment for the benefit of citizens.

Mr. Ayariga also promised that the government will help Mr. Kufuor to succeed in his work as Special Envoy.

In a post on his Facebook page, the Environment Minister said the President, John Mahama, has directed his Ministry to provide the administrative support needed by the Special Envoy in his various engagements.

On his part, former President Kufuor briefed the Minister on all the discussions taking place ahead of the Paris Conference in December where a new global agreement on climate change is expected to be reached.

Former President Kufuor promised to pursue Ghana’s interests at the various platforms which he has access to by virtue of the position of Special Envoy.
