Timelines and facts behind the YFm sexual assault scandal

The case abduction and sexual assault connected to Miss Ada has been a controversial subject over the weeks. Below are the timeline and facts behind the case.

April 14    –     The YFM presenter in the Western Region, Miss Ada, also known as Adaeze Onyinyechie Ayoka was found at the GHAPOHA hospital

April 14   –     Police in the Western Region confirm to Citi News that Miss Ada’s latest abduction report is the 5th recorded by the police

April 15   –     A statement from Global Media Alliance, owners of Yfm, urges the media to be circumspect in their reportage and allow the Police to conduct thorough investigations into the matter.

April 15   –    Accra Regional Police Command take over investigations into Miss Ada case, and the victim is transferred to the Police Hospital in Accra for further treatment

April 16   –     Accra Police Regional Command hold press conference to announce the arrest of 18 year old suspect connected to the Miss Ada case Nelson Williams.

April 17   –     Suspect remanded in police custody by court

Facts of the case so far as released by the Police

One suspect, Nelson Williams, 18 years and a painter, also known as Idrrisu arrested.

He is believed to have aided Miss Ada in the taking of the nude pictures. His arrest was made on Tuesday April 14, around 10pm

 Nelson denies sexually assaulting Miss Ada. He tells the Police that his involvement with Miss Ada was consensual

Suspects says he wasn’t paid to act with Miss Ada

Suspect tells police that Miss Ada acted the way she did because she was jilted by her boyfriend

Three other guys and one lady, connected to the case are on the run

Miss Ada is in a traumatic condition and currently being attended to by doctors at the Ghana police hospital. She is unable to tell her side of the story. The police will interrogate her after doctors give the green light

Police in Takoradi disclose that the latest reports of abduction of Miss Ada is the 5th they have received of her

The incident took place in Accra.

Miss Ada is Ghanaian but was later adopted by a Nigerian couple

 She is an employee of Global Media Alliance, owners of Yfm
