Management of YFM has said their presenter, Ms Ada who allegedly staged an abuduction and sexual assault story did not show any signs of insanity when she was employed at the station..

The Police have suggested that Ms Ada could possibly be mentally ill and is currently receiving treatment at the Police Hospital.

[contextly_sidebar id=”1cFhFRCOX00xQWi5D1MDchiEkQBrNJJT”]However speaking on Eyewitness News, the Head of Corporate Communications at Global Media Alliance-owners of YFM, Noami Nelson said the station had no cause to doubt her mental health since they  made the necessary checks before employing her.

“We cross-checked her credentials with her former employers before we employed her…before she came to us she had worked for some reputable media organisations. She has been in the media industry for years..We do the regular checks that any employer would do.”

Madam Nelson further pointed out that the victim needs help even if she actually staged the whole incident.

“Either way she needs help. If she was raped she needs support. If she wasn’t she needs some psychological help. We must be sensitive to issues like these.”

She further described as “disturbing” the manner in which the lady’s privacy was invaded.

She said the staff and management of YFM were shocked at development, saying “we are all in shock and we are working with the police to ensure that the truth comes out.”

Is Ms Ada Ghanaian or Nigerian

Ms Nelson clarified that the presenter’s Nigerian name was given to her after she worked with a Nigerian called Mr Ayoka.

This corroborated an earlier Police report on her nationality.

“Her father has confirmed that she was adopted and that was why she took the name. It has never been an issue…If you call her references or guarantors and she checks out, you would not have a reason to doubt it.”
