A former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for the Klottey Korley constituency, Nii Nortey is predicting that Philip Addison will not emerge victorious in the party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries in the area.
Philip Addison, Counsel for NPP Flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2012 Election Petition is seeking to contest as Member of Parliament for the Klottey Korley constituency.

But his contender, Nii Nortey believes he [Philip Addison] does not meet the requirements to occupy such a position.
“If he was a candidate that could win the elections, I would have given him all my support but Klottey Korle needs someone who be there all the time. They need someone who will mingle with them… “
I am not stabbing Addison in the back
Philip Addison earlier accused his constituency chairman, Nii Noi Nortey of stabbing him in the back after earlier supporting his parliamentary ambitions. The former constituency chairman resigned a few days back to contest in the upcoming primaries.
Speaking to Citi News, Philip Addison wondered why his chairman made the u-turn after endorsing him.
Nii Nortey in a rebuttal however denied such claims saying “I must say I’m so disappointed in the word that my senior brother used. I have never held a meeting to discuss Philip Addison nor his political ambitions”
Nii Nortey challenged Philip Addison to provide evidence to prove that he was indeed sabotaging him and causing divisions in the party.
“I am always saying that we need to be united and took a lot of work to bring the party together so why will we sit down and allow issues like these to destroy the hardwork we have done .It is never possible for me to cause division among the party. I will even be sanctioned if I do such a thing.”
