The award winning sports station Happy 98.9 FM and the Lakeside Marina Estate have again lived up to their promise by lending a helping hand to where it is needed most.
Earlier this week, The Mercy Social Centre came alive as officials of Happy FM and Lakeside Estate paid a visit and donated food items to help cater for children in the home
Items donated to the Social Centre include; bags of rice, cartons of milk, cooking oil, boxes of noodles, Cartons of Mornflake Oats, valued at over 2,000 Cedis.
Ms. Naomi Nelson, Head of Corporate Communications of Global Media Alliance, parent company of Happy FM in an interview said, “As part of our commitment to positively affect people in our society, we deem it necessary to give back to society in every little way possible. This is not the first time Happy FM and Lakeside Estate have collaborated to make donations to the Mercy Social Center and this will not be our last time. We thank all our sponsors and supporters for helping us make this year’s Family Fun Run such a success and we are hopeful that they will continue to do so.”
According Mr. Salah Kweku Kalmoni, Director of the Lakeside Estate, “Items and money donated today are from Part of the proceeds raised during the 5th annual Lakeside Marina Park/Happy FM family fun run held on Independence Day at the Lakeside Marina Est in teAshale Botwe. Without our participants, we would not be here today giving to the Mercy Social Centre, Our sincere gratitude to all who registered, participated, sponsored and supported the fun run this year.”
The management of Mercy Social Centre in turn expressed their gratitude for the hand of support extended to by Happy FM and Lakeside Marina Estate.
“We are humbled by this kind gesture and urge other organizations to emulate this gesture and donate to the Mercy Social Centre.”
The Lakeside Marina Park/Happy FM Family Fun Run is an annual event which happens on every 6th March with the aim of bringing families, friends and corporate organizations together to exercise, keep fit, and network on independence day.
