Motorcyclist loses life on Easter Saturday

A motorbike rider met his untimely death after a gruesome accident on the Abutia-Sokode road in the Ho West district on Saturday.

[contextly_sidebar id=”iHiKpiNb6oMUEG5d5BkNNyzRaeZLCAqU”]The deceased who has been identified as Stephen Awanda was said to be returning from a festival at Abutia.

The deceased according to an eyewitness who spoke to Citi News, was being stopped by a military officer who thought he was speeding.

In an attempt to swerve, Stephen Awanda run over the legs of the officer  and fell of the motorbike together with a friend on the bike.

They were both rushed to the Volta regional hospital but Stephen was pronounced dead on arrival.

His friend sustained severe injury.

Meanwhile the military man whose identity is yet to be disclosed is in a critical condition and receiving treatment at the 37 military hospital in Accra.
