Private Universities Students’ Association, Ghana (PUSAG) has condemned the attack on students and lecturers of Garissa University College in Kenya by Islamist militant group, Al-Shabaab.

[contextly_sidebar id=”v35bmfUD9N3XGLX0H9DUsQ9YD42QTohm”]The Association also expressed its heartfelt sympathy to the victims and families of the 147 students and who lost their lives in the attack last Thursday.

A statement signed by the PUAG’s Director of International Affairs, Richard Odame said: “We, PUSAG, condemn the grisly and dastardly attack, heavy gunfire and explosions for hours at Garissa University College on Thursday 2nd April, 2015. We feel very incomplete for losing a significant number of transformational students who would join the ship for Africa’s success and development few years to come.”

Odame noted that members of PUSAG are willing to assist in any way possible although there are “no quantum of expressions of words to ease your pain. Please note that our prayers are with you.”

Last Thursday, masked gun men opened fire on students of the Garissa University College in Kenya killing about 147 persons.

The Kenyan government has placed a 20 million Kenyan shillings ($215,000) bounty on the ring leader of the group, Mohamed Mohamud who is suspected to have masterminded the attack.

Frantic search is underway in Kenya to arrest and bring him to book.
