floodsSevere rainstorm has displaced hundreds of people in the Savelugu/Nantong district in the northern region.

Several properties including households and school blocks have been affected.

Available statistics indicated that about 709 people were affected in Nantong alone.

Northern Regional NADMO Coordinator, Alhaji Abdulai Silimboma confirmed the disaster to Citi News saying, “What has occurred was in Savelugu Nantong basically not only Nantong.”

He said NADMO had assessed the situation, compiled a list and forwarded to NADMO headquarters for relief items.

Alhaji Silimboma said the displaced people were putting up with relatives and friends awaiting NADMO’s response to alleviate their plight.
