Some factions in the National Democratic Congress in the Shama constituency of the Western Region are up in arms against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for constructing an office at a place they feel is not appropriate.

The NDC, led by the District Chief Executive of Shama Enoch Kojo Appiah has thus served a final warning and a demolition notice to NPP’s constituency chairman.

The office in question is built just after the Ntwaaban Barrier in the Shama constituency along the Cape Coast Takoradi Highway in the Western Region.

Reports indicate that it was financed by a party member called Ato Panford.

The matter has been reported to the office of the Regional Minister and the Regional Police Commander for an amicable solution.

But speaking to Citi News, the Shama constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Joseph Amoah said demolishing is likely to spark a long standing confusion between the two parties in the constituency.

“We informed the Works and Housing Department of the Shama District assembly. They did their inspection and we were asked to push back a bit because the former position was on a storm drain which we adhered to.

Besides the structure is by the road side so personnel from the assembly pass by regularly and they saw it coming up.

He added that “if in any case they were not content with what we were doing, why wait until we are done and painted the place before you ask us to pull it down.”

“There will be repercussions if it is demolished. It will lead to a war between the two parties since we will also do same when we come to power,” Joseph Amoah warned.

Inauguration of the structure has been postponed due to the current brouhaha surrounding the office.
