The wife of Adams Mahama, the late Upper East chairman of the NPP, Hajia Zinabu Adams, today [Tuesday] testified as a witness for the prosecution in the case where Gregory Afoko, brother of the suspended NPP National Chairman is being accused of murdering Adams Mahama.

According to Hajia Adams who was the first witness to be called in the case, her husband returned home after he had left earlier in the day to inspect a hotel project he was constructing.

He returned at 11 PM lamenting and crying for help in his vehicle.

She further told the court in her quest to help him out of the car she sustained some minor burns also when she came into contact her husband.

Charges against Afoko

Gregory Afoko, is being held on the charges of conspiracy to commit crime to wit murder and murder of the late Mr Adams Mahama, the NPP Upper East Region Chairman.

He is accused of attacking the former NPP chairman with acid which led to his death.

Afoko has pleaded not guilty in a court before a seven-member jury.

In February, an Accra District Court committed Afoko to stand trial at the High Court to answer to the charges leveled against him.
