Voting has begun in the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries in the Akwatia Constituency, Eastern Region.
The polls were suspended which was supposed to come off on November 21 in 2015 was suspended upon advice from National Security.
The incumbent MP, Baba Jamal and a businessman, Mr. Basil Ahiable are contesting the polls.
The Constituency Chairman, Moro Aware, spoke to Citi News yesterday and said there will be strong police presence to provide adequate security.
“I can confirm to you that the Police Commander here and his men are on the ground preparing themselves… no violence or mischief will happen here,” he assured.
