The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) Northern Regional leadership has warned that any party officers caught openly campaigning for their preferred parliamentary aspirants will be suspended.
The region recorded a total of 120 Parliamentary aspirants and only four are female.

“We are thinking of calling the aspirants and all the constituency executives to warn or caution them for the last time that if a particular constituency executive is reported to be openly backing a particular aspirant the region will not hesitate to suspend such a constituency executive,” he warned.
“Constituency executives, my colleague regional executives and even national should stay away from the aspirants.”
He said the NDC should emerge more united after the Parliamentary primaries.
“We can only have formidable and united candidates if after the Parliamentary primaries we don’t have situations where some aspirants will feel that they did not have a leveled playing ground.”
Lawyer Rauf commended the Parliamentary aspirants for their tolerance and assured them of a transparent vetting process.
