Black Stars defender Daniel Amartey has commended his team mates for showing character in the 1-0 victory over Rwanda.
A late strike from Mubarak Wakaso helped the Black Stars record their second consecutive victory in the qualifying campaign.
Before that, the defense which had Daniel Amartey playing ahead of Jonathan Mensah had to put in a shift to ensure the home side did not draw first blood.
“The pitch was terrible and I think that the most important thing was that we won on the day,” Amartey told Citisports “Time and time again we showed our character and played through the difficulties to win so for me that was the important thing.”
The Black Stars now top Group H of the 2017 AFCON qualifying campaign with six points.
