The nurses, Emefa Agbematu 26-year-old , a Rotation Midwife and Harriet Bamfoe, a Staff Nurse 25-year-old were on their way to work at the Ridge Hospital in Accra but unfortunately perished in the disaster at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle.
The Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr Emmanuel Obeng Apori, who was speaking after the two were laid to rest today, said Emefa Agbematu, and Harriet Bamfo, were very committed staff.
He stated in an interview with Citi News , “ Jesus Christ said that there is no Greater love than to lay our lives down for our fellow men.
“Emefa and Harriet were on their way to work, one came to work was going back home and one was also on her way to work, just because of the love and commitment they have for their work and also the love to save lives. If they died in the cause of work, we believe that they are matyrs.”
