The New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates in Talensi in the Upper East region have elected Thomas Duanab Wuni as their Parliamentary candidate for the July 7 By-election.
Thomas Wuni polled 182 votes while the remaining two contestants, Robert Alibo and Williams Zoogah polled 119 and 96 votes respectively.

Announcing the results, the Talensi Electoral Commission’s (EC) returning officer indicated that two ballots were rejected.

The EC will on July 7 organize a By-election in Talensi to elect a Member of Parliament.
This comes on the back of the enskinment of the Talensi MP, Robert Nachineb Doameng as the Paramount chief of Talensi.
The voting exercise took place at Tongo in the Upper East Region and 418 NPP delegates voted.
